Did you see last night’s Academy Awards? I had to wait for updates and videos online and get snippets on social media because we don’t have cable, but I just adore Oscar fashion dress (all those starving stars in gorgeous luxury outfits!) And Ellen’s Twitter account made me laugh out loud because she prompts selfies that are like this (the most retweeted ever), which is funny considering celebs are “ just like us “. And awesome Ellen delivered pizza .
Instead of working over the weekend, I made the decision to become a total couch potato and catch up on my entertainment. We watched 12 Years a Slave, which I sobbed through the entire time, and Gravity, which was good but gave me strange dreams about floating through space. However, I’m happy Lupita Nynog’o won Best Supporting Actress because it deserved to win Best Picture and I also think Lupita Nynog’o’s acceptance speech was lovely (says the girl who has seen 2 of the 10 nominated films).
Although I thought Chiwetel Ejiofor’s performance in that movie was outstanding, I’m also glad Matthew McConaughey won Best Actor because I secretly started to like him 18 years ago when he played Jake Brigance in A Time to Kill . I also really enjoyed his moving victory speech.
Fashion and interior design are inextricably linked, and the Oscars represent the pinnacle of splendor with their amazing attention to detail. This year, there were a ton of light-colored gowns, some of which had sequins or sparkle added. In fashion and design, I adore the combination of neutrals and sparkle; these were my faves.
Best Actress: Kate Hudson in Attelier Versace, Kristin Chenoweth in Cavalli, and Cate in Armani Prive.
Jenna Dewan-Tatum wore Reem Acra, Portia de Rossi wore Naeem Kahn, and Meryl wore Lanvin.
These certainly fit the bold category and were highly glitzy.
Olga Kurylenko wore Suzy Amis-Cameron, Charlize Theron wore Dior Haute Couture, and Sandra Bullock wore Alexander McQueen.
But I believe Lupita Nyong’o won the award for Best Dressed lady award in her pale blue Prada, which had tiny crystals on the flowing pleated skirt.
See a lot more of the here red carpet attire up close.
I finished watching House of Cards on Netflix late on Saturday night; tell me you also watch this program! Francis Underwood is played by Kevin Spacey perfectly, and it is wonderful. His initials on his cufflinks shouldn’t be disregarded, am I right?
Halfway through Season 2, I just can’t put it down. I like how Netflix distributes the full season at once because I can sit and watch without interruption until the very final episode, when I can turn it off and go back to being my usual, unable to sit still self.
Here’s a look back at the most popular projects and posts from January and February, when I wasn’t quite as lazy, since I didn’t do anything constructive over the weekend.
