GLAZED PLUMS WITH BALSAMIC AND GINGER Glazed plums with balsamic and ginger Written by Foodieaholic Ingredients: 6 Servings Balsamic vinegar, 1/2 cup 1 1/2 tablespoons ground ginger 2 tablespoons brown sugar Olive oil, 1 tbsp Orange juice, 1 tbsp 1/2 tsp. orange zest Salt, a pinch Six juicy, firm plums 2 teaspoons minced crystallized ginger (optional) Vanilla ice cream (optional) Instructions In a small pan, mix the vinegar, brown sugar, ginger, olive oil, orange juice, and zest with the salt. Bring to a boil, lower heat, and simmer for 5 to 7 minutes, or until it thickens into syrup. Remove the pits by halves the plums. Balsamic syrup and plum halves should be gently mixed in a large basin to coat. Place the plums, cut side down, on a grill rack that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Grill for about 5 minutes over medium heat. If preferred, top warm servings with vanilla ice cream, crystallized ginger, or both.
