While attending nursing school, my stepdaughter resides in San Diego. I sent her this simple coastal striped rug from Overstock to cover her small navy blue sofa and to soften the terra cotta tile floor in her rental.

Overstock has long been my go-to website for elegant, economical decor. I’ve bought a ton of items there over the years, including carpets, furniture, light fixtures, faucets, kitchen hardware, and so on.

The membership-based loyalty rewards program offered by Overstock, Club O Rewards , interested me. Customers who sign up for the program get free delivery on all orders, at least 5% back on all purchases, and up to 20% back on hundreds of carefully chosen items.

I added up all of my recent Overstock purchases out of curiosity, and the 5% in incentives I could have gotten for becoming a Club O member far outweighed the $19.95 yearly price. I therefore registered for Club O Rewards in order to receive future rewards. If the sum of my rewards for a year does not match the membership fee, the discrepancy will be applied to my account when I renew for the following year. But I know I’ll get my money’s worth there because I frequent the store so much. 🙂

I’ve been a customer for a while, so today I teamed up with Overstock to discuss how I decide on the design of an area rug for a room. I start by picturing a specific look that will go well with the decor. I then reduce the selection to carpets that have high standards for quality, dependability, affordability, and customer satisfaction. I’m constantly looking for a deal, but the rug needs to be attractive, comfortable, and durable.

My internet rug selections typically fall into one of three categories: a timeless stripe, a delicate design, or a go-to neutral. Pick one of these three styles if you’re ever unsure about the type of rug to purchase.

EASY STRIPES I loved the wide stripe green rug I purchased from Overstock for my back patio last year. The rug was comfortable, of high quality, and had a gorgeous color. With such a low cost, it endured through two summers with direct sunlight.

Stripes are timeless and will always be in fashion. You can never go wrong with a basic or striking striped rug, it’s a universal fact!

SILENT PATTERN For my local Committee on the Homeless earlier this year, I put together a family room for veterans. I used this gorgeous blue rug from Overstock since it added a dose of deep blue and had a subtle pattern underneath.

One of the simplest methods to choose a rug is to pick a color that you want to use throughout the room and then look for a rug with a modest pattern in that color to provide interest beneath your feet. I particularly adore rugs with mottled designs that evoke the appearance of vintage materials.

Another excellent choice in the subdued design area is basic, small-scale geometric patterns. You are allowed to stack textiles with busier or larger-scale patterns or bolder patterns on top.
